How to Measure Proposed Laws and Lawmakers

As a Christian who believes that God gave her her life and her freedom to chose as a sacred gift and one that was fought over to keep even before this world began. (I'm referring to scripture reference Revelation 12:7

"7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,

8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.")
This fight had our agency at the heart of it. Were we to be forced to worship or would it be our choice to worship with a way provided for us if we repented? So, to make a long argument short, the question we should ask about proposed laws: "Will it maintain and enhance my agency, or give it to another?" The question to ask about proposed lawmakers: "Do they propose solutions that will maintain and enhance my agency, and have they voted and worked to protect it in the past?"
God gave each of us our agency, knowing that others choices would harm us at times. Who are we to vote it away from them?

Concentration of Power and Trust

The point of the system of government we have in the United States is to avoid concentration of power and authority. The principles of freedom upon which this country was built and stands are replete with emphasis on personal choice and personal accountability. History throughout the ages has proven one consistent point: people in nations governed by the few become slaves instead of empowered citizens.
What are our basic necessities? Food, Water, Shelter, Medicine(including "alternative medicine" which is food used strategically), Weapons of Defence against predators of any kind. Any time we turn any of those things over to a main governing body other than the people, we surrender our freedoms. The pyramids and other wonders of the ancient Egyptian world were built by slaves. They were not slaves in the sense we typically envision with shackles and whips, but they were slaves to the Pharoh because he controlled the food. They did as he said or perished. Anyway, here's the point: Handing over healthcare to federal gov't is a giant step toward slavery for the U.S. people. When someone has that much control over our health care we can be easily manipulated, controlled.
Another lesson from history is that while one or two people may be virtuous enough to have that much power and not become tyrants, the majority aren't. If we could guarantee that those appointed to supervise a new socialized healthcare system would always have the best interest of each person in mind a government run health care system might be ideal, except that it negates personal responsibility. That is just not the case. Even the representatives that we, the people, elect don't seem to care too much about what we want, believe, or need. Imagine how much worse it could be with persons who don't need our support to remain in their appointment. The person in charge of health care will logically be most concerned with the interests of the person or persons who appoint him/her. The current system of health care needs reform by getting the government out of it. There will always be flaws, not everyone gets the care they need until we all care enough about ourselves and each other to take care of ourselves and each other. If you look at other countries that have adopted socialized medicine, you don't find that everyone gets the care they need. You find people dying from conditions that could have been repaired by timely surgery. They die while waiting on a list. In our country right now there are already medical facilities set up to care for the uninsured, doctors who volunteer their time to help these patients, even companies who donate supplies. I even knew a cancer patient who got a special offer from the pharmaceutical company his medicine came from and didn't have to pay for his medicine. These miracles can only happen in a system of freedom. These doctors are not bound by the regulations of a consolidated governing party but by the compassion and sincere desire they have to help. We have learned from the hurricanes, flood, and other natural disasters that individual people and families come to the aid of one another in times of distress, and that the government agencies in charge of those types of operations pale in comparison. We have reason to have faith in our fellow citizens.
We need to keep contacting our representatives. We need to tire them with our endless, sincere pleas. We need to give them every reason to vote against any measure that takes our health care choices away from us, and to vote for those measures which will get the federal government out of it. We need to be persuasive, but polite. We cannot give up. If this bill passes it must not be because we didn't try hard enough to prevent it. We must show reverence for the lives that were given to ensure us the freedoms we enjoy under the constitution by fighting to preserve them now.

Forced for Our Own Good

Much of the arguments, that I hear, in favor of socialism, whether it's in medicine, housing, education, or employment all have the common thread of being for people's own good. I, like many of my friends, believe that the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the principles he exemplified have the power to change lives for the better, to be a GREAT blessing in the lives of those who live it. Living the principles of the Gospel of Jesus Christ has proven to be effective for improving the quality of life of people all over the world. However, I, nor any of my friends would try to force this on people, even for their own good.
I don't know anyone who would think it right or fair to force another person to worship according to the dictates of their personal beliefs. So, why do so many think that agency matters less when it comes to people's lives, their health care? While my husband and I choose to purchase health insurance, there are those who choose not to. Some could not afford it, others could afford it if they gave up cable TV, smoking, drinking, and/or eating out. Giving up any of these things would not hurt them, but it would inconvenience them. The truth about the situations of many people is that they want to have everything without inconveniencing themselves.
While good health care can certainly change lives and improve the quality of life for many people, it is not a right. Nor is it a federal responsibility. When it comes to things as personal as a person's health care needs can best be served by local churches and communities. Hospitals like St. Jude's have successfully cared for the needy for many years, supported by voluntary financial contributions. This is proof that private funding for those who need medical care but cannot afford it can work. Perhaps there are many others that have gone under. However there are others that have prospered. God sent us to this earth in families, not in governments. Parents, not society, have been given the responsibility to care for each other and their children.
We have created a government, through the inspired constitution, for the protection of our rights. Government changes from protector to jailer when given too much power. History has proven this time and again. When people cease to take care of their responsibilities and pass the buck to governments the price is their freedom.
We are selling off our freedoms chunks at a time in exchange for convenience and guarantees. What has happened to the strength and independence upon which this nation was founded? Have we become complacent in our abundance and forgotten not only what history taught us about putting our trust and power in government, but also the blood and sacrifices made to bring about this nation? I think we have. You cannot completely prevent failure without limiting success. The great achievements of this nation were largely facilitated by the freedoms guaranteed to us in the constitution. The freedom to fail is inseparable connected to the freedom to succeed. The constitution is the law of this nation, laws enacted which are in violation of the powers granted in it are illegal.
The Constitution states that powers not given to the federal government (as outlined in the constitution) are to remain with the states. The Constitution says nothing about health care, therefore if any government is to be involved with health care it is limited to the states. However, even a state level is too impersonal for health care. Health care is the responsibility of individuals, families, and communities. Those who believe it is a right can pitch in their own money to guarantee it for those who they feel need it, but it cannot be mandated. I know people who would give of their abundance, and still others who would give of their "penury". Their are good people in communities everywhere who would contribute to the welfare of their fellow citizens if they knew the needs.
As we all decry the injustice of those denied care due to poverty, or those brought to poverty due to the high price of necessary care, let's turn to our own pocket books and to our city and county government to figure out solutions. Let's work toward repealing regulations, now in place, that limit our freedom to chose with regard to health care. Instead of adding regulations and limiting freedom, let's take responsibility personally for the solutions. If we think somebody should pay for the health care of the needy, let's be that somebody. If not, we should not be forced to.
I think more people would be moved to compassion if less of their hard-earned money was being automatically taken from them in the form of high taxes. I think more people would WANT to help if they weren't being FORCED to help. The outrageous prices of health care being paid for by the government will not lighten the burden to the people of this country. It will simply be shifted from being care you can choose to pay for to care you are forced to pay for through taxation.

Are We Willing to Give it All up For a Mess of Pottage?

For years there have been bills passed in the pretext of benefiting education. Many bills which otherwise would have been immediately thrown out have been couched in things like education to garner support of conscientious citizens and representatives. In the end, not one penny went to education, not a change was made. In the health care bill Pres. Obama is currently pushing we find the same tactics. It is not a simple bill for health care reform, but a bill to abolish many of the rights guaranteed to us in the constitution. In essence it is a hidden revolution of our entire governmental system, in complete willful ignorance of what "We The People" want.

One of the biggest reasons we are in this predicament is that most of us have never read The Constitution and Bill of Rights with the thoroughness we read "Harry Potter" or "Twilight", if we have read it at all. Here are links to both.

The founding fathers knew history and that it repeats itself, not because it has to, because we get lazy and stop paying attention to the pit falls we could see coming if we were not asleep, as it were. We need to wake up, before it's too late. The Constitution was set up to protect us from the pit falls observed over thousands of years. The founding fathers knew why Rome fell, they knew the history of it's downfall and put safety guards into the constitution to protect us from the same fate. Please read The Constitution. Pray to find out if it's the best law for our nation, with a willingness to act on what God tells you. Regardless of your religious preference the God of your understanding will answer you. Freedom is responsibility, not entitlement. It is the right to take risks and sometimes fail. It is the right to go broke or prosper. We cannot have it one way.
Once again, here's a link to the bill, we should at lest TRY to read it.
http://docs.house.gov/edlabor/AAHCA-BillText-071409.pdf

Let us not treat so lightly the thousands of lives lost to bring us the freedoms granted by God and guaranteed in the Constitution. Let us not forget the Great-Grandfathers, Great-Uncles, etc. who gave their lives for us. Freedom REALLY isn't free.
When we contact our representatives, we need to make sure we tell them we do not support any health care plan that is federally run. Instead, we want a plan that will remove government restrictions that limit the choices of each citizen. We want less regulation, not more. For instance, right now there are laws restricting purchasing health care insurance across state lines. If that is repealed, people can choose from thousands of companies, they will have to compete. Competition secures lower prices and better quality. If health care providers and insurance companies have to compete the care improves and the cost HAS to be manageable to the consumer.
Contact your representatives! And PRAY!

Don't Let the Media be Your Guide!

The truth about the situations in the world cannot be found in mainstream media because they are not really seeking truth, but ratings. We must look at many different sources and weigh the evidence against true principles, like the ten commandments and other admonitions in scripture. The truth of all things can be seen by comparing it to the words of scripture. If there's anything I've learned in my study of history, it's that it repeats itself. You can, in a very real way, know what is happening today by measuring it against what has happened in the scriptures. What kind of tactics did people lead others astray with? What did those who were lead astray say about it? How did they receive the messages of God's servants? What did they promise? When things we read or hear ring a bell with stories in the scripture it's a good practice to go to scripture and compare it. After reading, watching, listening and comparing with scripture pray. God is there, he is real. He is the one that made us free and that will help us regain freedoms we've lost and maintain those we have! He is the author and origin of all truth and can help us sift through the heaps of information and disinformation.

What is the Proper Standard to Measure Laws Against?

Besides the Ten Commandments, a law which all Christians obey as an act of reverence to God, there have been laws enacted throughout history that come very close to it. Periods and places in history when these laws were generally accepted and obeyed are known as times of peace, and the rulers who enacted them and enforced them are lauded by their citizens because of the prosperity and safety that was made possible by them.
The ten commandments are fundamental laws of society which, if obeyed, bring peace to families, communities, nations, and the world. When we are faced with the tough decisions of whether we will support any new law, we can know if that law is just by holding it up to the standard of God's law. If it doesn't match up with it, it is not a just law. If it conflicts with the standard in any way it is not a good law.
When we are considering who we will vote for, we can look at their voting record. Are they voting in accordance with the standard? Are they consistently voting in accordance with that standard? How do we know which way to vote? We have a standard, a standard proven throughout the history of the world.
Even if you don't believe in God, are not Christian, have no religion at all, or don't like the constitution you can look at history through the ages. The consistent fact is that when laws were enacted and enforced which are strikingly similar to those found in the Ten Commandments there is peace and prosperity.

Pure Truth is the Best Persuasion

I recently read a blog page that said that if we want to sell a point to immoral people we can't play a moral angle. In this case it was the issue of abortion. The point was that we should try to convince people that abortion should be stopped because it is economically detrimental.

I see the logic here, and I have tried it in the past. However one of the things I value most in what freedoms remain to us in this country is the moral values and that I CAN still speak about. I will not approach evil in evil's way, even if it means winning the argument. I want God's laws, in God's way. I believe the constitution is a part of that law, and that's what gives me the strength to stand up for it.

The convenientf abortion is wrong because another's life should not be snuffed out because it inconveniences us. That's murder and it should not be paid for en masse by taxpayers. I will never put it another way to make it more palatable for the immoral who call murder freedom. I used to work that way...it never felt like light and truth, even when it was a part of the truth.

We cannot convince others of truth by manipulating that truth, twisting it to show only what we know they will like. In the end it is not the truth, the whole truth. It is the very tactic that has been employed on us for decades to trick us into agreeing to abortion, among other things. Convincing others to fight abortion on fiscal grounds would be an empty and short-lived victory. It's like teaching sexual purity on the basis of disease prevention....they'll eventually go use a barrier method (latex). Eventually people would find a way around the fiscal excuse. I want to win battles for God, his laws have more power to change and stabilize our nation than all the best philosophical strategies in the world. The founding fathers even said that the Constitution would only be effective on a moral people. Truth, undiluted, is God's way and will win in the end. At that end I want to be able to say I had enough trust in His way not to change it in an effort to "win".

Here is a link to the BLog I read, you may agree with it..even if I don't. http://morganj428.blogspot.com/2009/08/thought-on-abortion-debate.html

CONTACT YOU REPRESENTATIVES AGAIN AND AGAIN!

http://action.afa.net/videos/reagan/
Go to this site and listen to what Reagan said decades before about Socialized Healthcare ie: Obamacare. He outlines and accurately predicts the way Medicare and Medicaid paved the way for socialized medicine. This page has a link to a page that will enable you to e-mail your representatives. It makes it easy, you provide your zip code plus the 4 digits on most commercial mailings, like bills. The site pulls up the representatives for your state and area. There is a form letter you can simply sign, or you can write your own. You also have the option of printing out the letter and getting the addresses to mail a physical letter. I strongly encourage you to contact your representatives, weary them with your pleas until they give in, if only to get you off their case! :)- If we keep talking and writing to them it is us voicing the will of God to their ears, and HE will deliver the message!

Self-Governance Based on God's Law

Ever wondered why our Pledge of Allegiance says, "I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the REPUBLIC for which it stands...." and yet Democracy is always being shoved down our throats as our TRUE form of government? I'm not saying we should all be Republicans or Democrats for that matter, just that we should remember what our constitution REALLY says and stand by it.

The writers of the constitution knew first hand from dealing with England and the in-depth study of past civilizations what rights needed to be guaranteed and what things should absolutely be kept out of the Federal Government's control. God raised up these men, molded them to understand the principles of freedom. It wasn't a multiple choice answer, they knew that democracies always lead to anarchy, anarchy always leads to tyranny either in communism, socialism, or fascism, which are really all one type of government with different names, they all equal BONDAGE. They knew that pure republics have a tendency to disregard the people. We got a Democratic Republic. We got a government whose officials are elected by the people. Pure democracy is too subject to the whims and emotions of the masses, and pure republicanism is too centered on government. We had a mixture of the two in which government was limited in its power and influence. Over the years we have looked to government more and more to settle our problems, to somehow guarantee success, limit risk, and yet we still want all the benefits, this is not possible. I cringe when accidents happen, or things go badly for someone and people say, "We need a law against that!" No, we just need to accept that life is unpredictable, that we do our best and no-one guarantees success in this life...or should. We need to obey God's law, what more law could we add that would be profitable to us? We need to be responsible and stop looking for someone to "bail" us out. We can help each other independently and in our communities, but we need to focus first, and foremost, on living responsibly ourselves.

The constitution that we were given was the gift, to make our way to the best of our ability and trust in God for the outcome. Let us return to that form of government which best lends us to freedom to act and live in a way that is pleasing to God. Let’s learn from our mistakes and actions as God intended, with gentle guidance and encouragement from his commandments and laws to help us avoid pitfalls, yet with the choice of breaking ourselves against that law and falling. Let’s return to the government of self, based on tried and tested morals, not humanistic ethics and values, morals. Regardless of what government does, we, as individuals and families, can follow God's law. Whatever happens in the laws of this land, we can live according to God's law without breaking the laws of our country. In defense of our freedoms, let's remember how the TRUE Savior resisted evil(those who opposed him). God is on the side of freedom, let's play on his team, by his rules.

If You Have A Problem With ANY Law Get Info., And Contact Your Representatives!

“Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passion, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence.”--John Adams

A couple issues of concern right now are: The Health Care Bill and the Federal Reserve

Here is a good article outlining the history of the Federal Reserve, which is not federal at all. Just knowing the history of it could help in understanding why it's a crucial issue.

""If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and the corporations which grow up around them will deprive the people of all property until their children wake up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered."--Thomas Jefferson

http://www.iamthewitness.com/books/Andrew.Carrington.Hitchcock/The.History.of.the.Money.Changers.htm

Here's a good article about Censorship vs. Freedom of Speech, in response to recent initiatives from the White House to silence those in opposition to their agenda by turning every man against his brother.

Here is a link to an Acrobat document of the Health Care Bill. Even if you only read a few pages, you will see what dangers it poses to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

As we consider the bills, amendments, acts, etc. for our nation, we must be ever focused on the constitution. Too few of us actually know and understand it. I don't. I'm studying it more now, wish I would've sooner. God ordained the laws of our land in the constitution. God ordained the formation of this nation. Read your history.
Our forefathers were a group of underfunded, untrained, under-armed people, but they sought freedom, freedom that God gave them and others were seeking to destroy. The odds were so entirely against them. They had an empire with highly trained soldiers to contend with; well-funded, and well-armed. It was a miracle and an act of God that they succeeded.
Let us not throw away what God gave us through the sacrifice of fathers and sons of early Americans by failure to make our voices heard. We must follow the admonition of prophets and get involved in governmental procedure. If we continually communicate by e-mail, phone, fax-machine, personal visits to our representatives our support of constitutional principles and our rejection of unconstitutional mandates and are ignored, God will fight for us. If we shrink back in the shadows, ranting about the injustices of our day without raising our voices in the venues that may do some good we cannot then wonder why God has not intervened. Our lack of action communicates our blaring lack of true conviction. By not getting involved we essentially tell God , "We do not care." Actions speak louder than words. Why should God fight for us if we don't fight for ourselves. He loves us and will fight with us insofar as we CAN, and he will fight for us when we CANNOT, but our part is to try. We can only fail if we do not try.
It is not necessary for us to become consumed in the conspiracy theories of our time, some of which are probably real ( we know this because they are spoken of in scripture). Some research into them may be helpful in discerning between truth and lies. However, what we need to do is obey the servants of God. If we are prepared we shall not fear. The book of Revelations in the bible tells us that even the righteous will suffer, and Job, in the Old Testament reminds us that if we struggle and even die trusting in and serving the Lord, we shall see God. Job lost almost everything: posessions, family and friends, and even his health. The only thing he kept is the only thing we can truly control: his faith, trust, and tesimony of God. I hope that I can become like Job. Accepting both the blessings and sufferings that God has for me, not wavering in my devotion to him. I hope that wether it's in church, home or public that I can serve God and that he can count on me as he did Job.
